As well as treasury knowledge they have experience in the risk and accounting side. This means they are able to look at the bigger picture of what different projects are trying to achieve and have the ability and understanding to see where the problems or differences might arise and how these will in turn affect other areas of the business such as the accounts and financial statements of a group to the covenants and various understanding of what is allowed and not allowed under any facility documentation.
They been involved in a multitude of differing businesses, since IAS39 and IFRS7 came into affect, on hedge accounting and the various financial statements, testing and documentation side of things. Since IAS39 is being replaced very soon with IFRS9 they bring this understanding of what changes will need to made, and in turn how this will affect the look and feel of the financial statements from a treasury side.
They have led large teams as well as small teams, and have managed many different projects and work streams before right through from the planning to delivery. These have been large refinancing, recapitalisation, large hedging projects for ongoing business as well as acquisitions and disposals and a couple of MBOs, large new cash management setups with multi currency cross border zero and notional sweeping arrangements, various transfer pricing projects and finally a fair few implementations of various differing software solutions and SWIFT enablement.
Within many of the roles, they have often had to make presentations to the board, shareholders, CFO's and other senior stakeholders as well as various speaking opportunities at ACT and Eurofinance and with their knowledge and understanding as mentioned above, they talk and present confidently. They are able to explain in a more straight forward simplified manner, and have often had to deliver information to people with limited treasury knowledge.
