Key Responsibilities

Statutory Reporting

• Supervision of year end and interim financial statements, including consolidation accounts preparation.


• Oversee the review of proforma statutory accounts for UK legal entities.


• Assist and review the responses to new changes in IFRS and reporting requirements.


• Work with the external tax consultants and assist with the collation of UK corporate tax information for annual tax compliance activity.


• Work with the Controller to build and maintain the relationship with the Group's external and internal auditors and act as a key contact in relation to processing their requests.


• Develop and understand the UK Group VAT returns process to maximise working capital.

Management Reporting

• Supervision of Group wide consolidation on a monthly basis, ensuring that all divisions and business units submit timely and accurate financial information.


• Prepare the flash report to ensure timely delivery of monthly financial information to key stakeholders.


• Prepare Group level management accounts for submission to the Board.


• Collate Group wide KPI data for Board reporting.


• Develop a process and policy to review group wide intercompany balances to ensure regular clear down and intragroup dividends.


• Assist with the development of financial reporting and forecasting processes for Wavespec.


• Support the identification of where management reporting can be more effective and efficient.


• Support in the development of financial insights into business performance which can be used to assist management in effective decision making.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Prepare Group wide consolidations of forward-looking information for management review.


• Manage the development of robust working capital and cash flow forecasting across the Group.


• Work with the Group Financial Controller to review and stress test budgets.

Other Activities

• Assist Group Financial Controller with financial reporting requirements of post-acquisition integration of acquired businesses and disaggregation of disposed businesses.


• Manage the Treasury function including cash management and planning and management and accurate forecasting with appropriate liaising and challenge of commercial colleagues.


• Maintenance and management of the FX hedging portfolio.


• Manage the accounting for the Group's share options and SAYE scheme and ensure accounting treatment is appropriate and materially correct in the divisional ledgers.


• Assist with the collation of the information required to ensure timely vesting of share options when they become exercisable.


• Preparation of the annual returns relating to the Group's share option schemes.


• Assist with the data preparation and collation for the renewal of the Groups insurance policies.


• Work with the Controller to draft a Group wide time tabling and planning for all key financial activities to ensure that all critical paths and deadlines can be met.

• Key contact in relation to the ongoing implantation, design and testing of the new consolidation software to aide Group reporting and financial control processes.


• Develop thorough understanding of processes and systems used throughout the wider business.


• Management of the Group Reporting Accountant, and ability to engage and work well with other members of the wider finance teams across the divisions.


• Other ad hoc project work as required.
