My client is recruiting for a Group Financial Analyst based in London to assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, monthly Board reports and other ad hoc analysis for Senior Management.

Aspects of the role:
- Working in the European regional Head Office (London)
- Regional turnover of €3 billion across 38 operating companies and 100 reporting entities
- Advanced systems and reporting timescales, with focus on understanding and interpreting results, and process improvement
- Work with operations team to identify business issues facing the operating companies
- Work closely with the operating company senior finance staff
Analysis
- Analysis of the reported results of the group's subsidiaries to ensure integrity and understanding.
- Understand, correct and explain irregularities in data submissions from those subsidiaries, monitor material variances from Budget and performance against forecast on an ongoing basis
- Hold monthly calls with the Finance Director of each subsidiary to understand the performance and any financial accounting or system issues that they are facing, and assist in resolving them.
- Review the Group's annual budget and long-term planning submissions, as well as monthly forecasts.
- Participate in financial and operational reviews of Group operating companies so that Group development and control requirements are met.
- Discussion of analysis with members of the finance team as part of monthly meetings, with involvement from other business functions.
Reporting to the EMEA Board of Directors
- Prepare the monthly board pack for the EMEA Board of Directors with analysis of performance of the group's subsidiaries, highlighting any key risks or issues.
- Prepare monthly report of subsidiaries forecasts, and weekly forecast updates, including analysis of significant variances to budget or prior forecasts.
- Prepare flash revenue report, investigating any significant variances with the subsidiary finance teams.
Financial Accounting
- Become the key contact for the allocated subsidiaries, for accounting or other reporting systems questions.
- Provide support for the research, evaluation and reporting of technical accounting issues so that the Group meets all reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of working papers for the audit team and liaise with them concerning technical or audit issues.
Business Intelligence and Consolidated Reporting Systems
- Expert user of Hyperion, with ability to develop complex reports to support analysis and meet ad hoc requests from senior management
- Advanced user of Dashboard and Data Warehouse tools, including COGNOS and PowerBI
Miscellaneous
- Lead value add projects to comply with the changing needs of the Group
- Periodic presentation of Group results to Head Office employees
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA or similar international accounting qualification, with relevant experience
- Ability to communicate effectively across international functions and departments, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff including internal & operating company senior management
- Ability to give presentations to both Management staff and key members of staff in the operating companies
- Structured approach to analysis and reporting, with a focus on process improvement and adding value
- Experience of IFRS, particularly: IFRS15 for SaaS business, good understanding of IFRS16 Leases, IFRS 9 Financial Instruments concepts
- Advanced data analysis and presentation skills
