Our client, a rapidly expanding international biotech organisation, is looking to recruit a Head of Procurement during an exciting stage of growth. As the global Head of Procurement, you will be tasked with developing a centralised competitive and robust procurement bid and approval process that meets compliance and governance standards. As the business expands into new territories, you will negotiate all contracts, carrying out due diligence to ensure that you partner with ethical and sustainable suppliers who meet align with the company's values and deliver the best return on investment. As part of this process you will ensure supplier contracts mitigate any financial and legal exposure and risks. This is a high-profile and broad reaching role that will grow in line with the organisation's international expansion plans. Whilst the role is managing a small team, a hands-on approach will be key to this person's success.

Skills / Experience / Attributes

• Senior level procurement experience gained in an international pharmaceutical or biotech business (essential)


• MCIPS qualification preferred


• Previous experience of leading negotiations with global suppliers


• Experience of working in or closely with international companies, ideally with a US presence


• Proven ability to drive change in a fast-moving environment


• Evidence of continuous improvement mentality, demonstrating improving and transforming processes, including leveraging effectively technology


• Experience of delivering business cases, profitability analysis


• Excel skills including formulas and tables


• Evidence of credibility with management and external stakeholders


• Evidence of successful procurement track record and project management

Desirable

• Experience of working capital management


• Economics or Business degree and/or Accounting qualification
