Management Accountant for a leading group distribution company based in IP2, Ipswich, paying £40,000-£45,000 plus a bonus.

Your new business

You'll be working for a fast paced distribution/manufacturing group on the Ipswich branch with an energetic team.

Your new job

You'll be working in a stereotypical Management Accountant role, but as there is no FD on site, the financial controller performs activities that the FD normally would, therefore this MA role would pick up activities an FC normally would, giving the opportunity to further your skills & career.

You are responsible for;

• Preparing the Management Accounts fully


• Reviewing Balance Sheet Reconciliation (we call them Control Packs) & Assisting in preparation if needed


• All aspects of cost reporting for




• Payroll


• Projects


• Property




• Full submission of VAT returns


• Collection of data from site managers to send to payroll




• Joiners & Leavers


• Overtime


• Bonuses




• All aspects of recruitment and obtaining ATR (Authority to recruit) and keep track of all paper / email trails


• Preparation of various reports to ensure control and compliance guidelines from Head Office are adhered to - I review these, there's quite a few individual reports


• Deputising for the Assistant Management Accountant when they are on holiday.

Requirements to succeed

• Must be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).


• Must have high attention to detail. Accuracy is so important here, reporting for payroll and on large financial project spends. Accuracy over speed.


• More on the Financial accounting side. Balance sheet focused, compliance and controls, VAT etc.


• There's a lot of red tape, similar to a public sector company really, so that person has to be happy filing in multiple forms.

In return

You'll be paid £40,000-£45,000 per annum dependent on experience and will work a 37.5hr week in an office based capacity. Benefits include a 15% bonus of your annual salary.
