Reconciliations Accountant | Central London / Hybrid | Specialist Insurance Company | £45,000-£55,000 | 12 month FTC

Reconciliations Accountant for a Specialist Insurance Company paying £45-55,000. This is a hybrid role with three days working from the office in Central London

Your new role:

• Create efficiencies' by establishing service level agreements between coverholder operations team, underwriting, claims and coverholder finance staff in local offices to ensure that information is timely and accounted for correctly.


• Establish proper processes and reconciliation for a defined book of business as allocated by team members.


• Ensure that adequate controls are in place to identify errors in processing or submission by finance or by operations teams.


• Provide adequate sign off detailing the reconciliation status on a monthly basis to finance managers.


• Ensure premiums and claims have been matched to cash received or paid in bank by liaising with credit controllers and claims assistants.


• Liaise with the finance team, operations staff claims assistants and underwriting assistants as applicable to ensure any discrepancies are corrected.


• Informing coverholder finance on the monthly status of all service company submissions and discrepancies if any.


• Escalate issues as required to ensure internal service levels are met.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience of working in a reconciliation role is essential


• You will have ideally worked in a financial services business or similar.


• Experience and knowledge of Xchanging processes are advantageous, in particular knowledge of premiums and claims processing requirements.


• Familiar with accounting principles.


• Advanced knowledge of Excel.

• "You'll be paid £45-55,000 per annum for the 12 month contract and will work in a hybrid capacity.
