The Role

Savant is excited to be supporting a fast-moving, dynamic SME based near Staines. They are looking for a bright, talented and passionate Financial Controller to join their finance team. The Financial Controller will be tasked with managing the day-to-day finance function, including consolidations, statutory accounts and process and systems improvements.

Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for period end close and preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts


• Lead the closure and preparation of year end statutory accounts and manage company audits ensuring optimum results are achieved


• Preparing and publishing all monthly management results, including working capital, cash flow analysis with commentary


• Ensure controls and reconciliations are maintained


• Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements


• Manage group tax compliance, UK and International, including R&D and liaise with external advisers


• Leading a finance team responsible for transactional finance (AP/AR/bank/expenses etc), as well as daily client account reconciliations and supporting at month end


• Responsible for monthly staff payroll


• Pivotal in the development of all internal control policies and procedures in the company


• Utilising technology to automate financial processes and controls
  
  

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA. PLC/AIM reporting experience would be beneficial as would experience of the software or technology sector. Advanced Excel and knowledge of an ERP system such as SAP would be ideal. The individual will have a positive attitude to change, have the ability to improve and implement processes and work with the wider business whilst anticipating future organisational needs.
