We are delighted to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced Management Accountant to join their expanding Finance Business Partnering & Reporting team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a large, forward-thinking organisation that provides essential services across London and the South of England. The role is based at their Basingstoke head office, offering a flexible hybrid working arrangement to support work-life balance.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner the successful candidate will support the People Directorate and other Enabling Services areas. Key responsibilities include:

• Producing timely, accurate and insightful internal management accounts for senior leaders.


• Delivering clear analysis and commentary to explain performance variances against budgets and forecasts.


• Ensuring financial and operational information is aligned, maintaining accuracy within the accounts and driving continuous improvement in systems and processes.


• Providing detailed analysis of actuals, supporting accurate accounting and offering recommendations to senior management.


• Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, challenging and guiding budget holders as needed.


• Supporting Finance Managers with month-end processes, ledger control and balance sheet reconciliations.

About You

We are seeking a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong practical experience in management accounting, forecasting and budgeting. The ideal candidate will:

• Communicate effectively and build strong, trusted relationships across the organisation.


• Confidently present financial reports and insights to non-finance stakeholders.


• Influence and advise stakeholders at all levels.


• Be proactive, analytical and adaptable, introducing fresh ideas to support continuous improvement.


• Demonstrate strong IT skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.


• (Desirable) Have experience with Agresso or Power BI.
