The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Manager to lead and develop the Group's transactional finance function.
Managing a team of three, you will take ownership of both the sales and purchase ledger functions, ensuring robust financial controls, efficient processes and excellent stakeholder service across the business.
This is a hands-on leadership role that will suit someone who enjoys improving processes, developing people and working within a growing private equity-backed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of three transactional finance professionals.
- Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections and supplier payments.
- Manage cash allocation, credit control and aged debtor reporting.
- Monitor supplier relationships and payment processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across transactional finance processes and controls.
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations and reporting.
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve queries and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
About You
We're looking for an experienced transactional finance professional who combines strong operational expertise with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience managing both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions within a fast-paced B2B environment.
- Experience working with customers across sectors such as leisure, hospitality, healthcare, facilities management, distribution or other service-led, multi-site industries would be useful.
- A strong understanding of high-volume transactional finance, including credit control, supplier management, cash allocation and payment processes.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing transactional finance teams.
- Excellent knowledge of financial controls and process improvement, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across finance, operations, customers and suppliers.
- Previous experience within a distribution, engineering, service or product-based business would be advantageous.
- Experience working within a growing or private equity-backed business would be beneficial, although not essential.
