Interim Accounts Assistant - 6 Months Fixed Term - Basingstoke

Savant are pleased to be supporting a Basingstoke based client in the recruitment of a Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team, primarily focusing on the office accounts function. Our client is keen to find someone with solid, demonstrable accounts experience who can quickly integrate into the team and make an immediate impact. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day finance operation and would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy, collaborative environment. The position is office-based initially, with the potential to move to a hybrid working pattern after three months, subject to business needs. There is also the potential for the assignment to be extended for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities:

• Processing purchase and sales invoices


• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable


• Bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies


• Preparing payment runs and processing expenses


• Assisting with credit control and debt collection


• Supporting month-end activities and account reconciliations


• Maintaining accurate financial records and producing reports


• Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders

About you:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role


• Good understanding of accounting principles


• Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel


• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail


• Able to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines


• AAT qualified or studying (desirable)
