Salesforce Update: Salesforce Automotive Cloud - Part 1

In early January, Salesforce launched a new commerce cloud solution which will be available this spring, that will enable automakers and automotive dealers to level up their online sales. Salesforce’s automotive cloud is set to re-imagine car buying, car driving and servicing. 

Salesforce’s automotive cloud will bring together vehicle and driver profiles to help create connected experiences at every stage of the customer journey. With the help of the automotive cloud, automakers will be able to deliver the next generation of immersive and personalised car experiences. 

Most customer interactions during a car-purchasing process take place in digital channels and most customers say that the purchase experience provided by a company is just as important as its services and products. As more and more car sales are digitally supported, vehicles are becoming increasingly connected. By the end of the decade, Salesforce estimates that connected cars (cars that share data with a variety of systems both inside and outside the vehicle) will make up around 95% of all new vehicles sold in the world. 

The challenge that comes with this opportunity is that most automotive organisations are not equipped with the human resources, processes or technology essential to harnessing this data and delivering connected experiences throughout the car buying and ownership journey.
