What does the future hold for the UK and Ireland (UKI) Salesforce ecosystem?

Back

The UK and Ireland (UKI) Salesforce ecosystem represents an abundance of growing opportunity and thus creating an urgent need for talent for our customers, partners, and developers as business leaders.

Companies that once thought CRM were a nice to have, have learnt through the pandemic this year that it is a necessity not only to survive but to thrive.

So, what is the current Salesforce ecosystem in the UKI?

Jemma Byrne, VP of UKI Alliances at Salesforce has recently shared her thoughts stating that Salesforce packages boomed throughout last year during the peak of the pandemic, and that the company continues to have a strong pipeline of new partners coming into this ecosystem who are looking to competitively add value to the marketplace.

It’s worth saying too, that she adds, that if their Salesforce business plans continue on its current trajectory, they will be in an even healthier ecosystem with significantly more consulting partners to implement and consult around their numerous products — so there are lots of opportunities for the right partners!

The UKI specifically have seen tremendous successes, with the UK being one of the top healthiest markets across Europe for tech investment particularly for Cloud-centric and strong industry-centric business solutions.

Salesforce Partners have really been able to capitalise on the innovation that Salesforce offers them around the platform and they have seen some very successful outcomes from within the ecosystem.

Not only has the platform been lucrative for its partners but also at an investor level, in what can only be described as now a buoyant market for ISVs. Again, the UKI is probably one of the healthiest markets across Europe for tech investment with solid growth companies offering strong exit strategies downstream for investors.

But, what challenges does the UKI partner ecosystem face?

Inevitable headhunting and recruiting the right talent is a big challenge right now and understandably as candidates fear moving companies right now while living through these uncertain times and companies too having to make difficult decisions to make cut backs with redundancies, and while we can’t underestimate these challenges we have to readapt to turn these challenges into opportunities.

With that said, the IDC recently stated that they estimate that by 2024, there will be 4.2 million jobs in the Salesforce ecosystem world wide with over 140K of these within the UKI.

This is encouraging news for salesforce professionals and partners to know that there is equally a vast amount of tech skills in the UKI right now and for such companies to be able to find, utilise and optimise these professionals with skills that sit right across the regions of country and not just the common misconceptions of them being within London.

Companies surely have learnt this for themselves that whilst we are living through a pandemic, remote working has allowed and given professionals a life line to successfully tap into talent anywhere in the country and the world if needed.

Yet despite this, talent is a continuous challenge, and always will be, unless companies proactively headhunt for new people outside our usual ecosystems.
