Our client, a leading consultancy, is looking for a Procurement Support Officer to join a large local authority on an interim basis. The aim of the role is to support the day to day running of procurement activities, through an ambitious programme of change and transformation that it needs to be carried out over the coming years.
An important part of the transformation and procurement activity will be to deliver an in-sourcing programme for the previously outsourced set of support activities (including IT Services). Applicants will be required to work across a number of procurement projects and activities as part of an on-site Consultancy Team, working closely with the in-house procurement team to assist in the transference of skills and knowledge. They will be involved in preparing Request for Quotation, Invitations to Mini Competitions via Framework, Requests for Tenders Proposals and co-ordination for Asset Management, IT, HR & Marketing.
Applicants must have previous experience of procurement in the Public Sector working in a support capacity with expert knowledge of In-Tend. Strong communication and internal customer relationship skills and a good level of commercial procurement experience and expertise will be ideal.
