Linux Systems Administrator

Currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator for a full-fibre broadband provider, based in London, with £250m of investment who are rolling out 10Gbps FTTP networks and have a plan to cover a total of 1,000,000 premises bringing truly exceptional connectivity services to homes and business in the South of England.


The successful applicant will be providing ISP systems infrastructure Design, Development and Support. Running the software and Linux based systems that the support network engineering, network subscribers, and integrate with other Systems, e.g. BSS/OSS. Responsible for the stability, availability, reliability and quality of the Linux based infrastructure underpinning the company's ISP and Data Centre Services. Working closely with other members of the ISP and DC team to ensure continuity of service and initiate cross skilling, enforcing best practices in all implementations. Focusing on incident management lifecycle, change and configuration management/execution, risk management, troubleshooting, escalations, reporting and documentation.


Applicants must have a broad knowledge base of the functioning of computer/telecom operations and BSS/OSS systems. Hands-on experience with Linux OS infrastructure development and support, systems with infrastructure design and operations. Strong Linux skills (CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu) are essential. Knowledge of database technologies (SQL/MySQL), Perl/Python or other scripting languages and DNS systems deployment & management (BIND/unbound/knot). Experience of integrating disparate systems using REST APIs, NETCONF and YANG data models would also be required.
